Since April 2020, all employees and workers must receive a written statement of particulars from their first day. This applies to all contracts, not just permanent ones.
- Written statement of particulars required from day one (Good Work Plan 2020)
- Must include pay, hours, holiday, sick pay, notice, pensions, and more
- National Living Wage applies from age 21; NMW applies below that age
- Statutory minimum holiday is 5.6 weeks including bank holidays
- Auto-enrolment pension required from age 22 if earning over £10,000
- Employees have right not to be unfairly dismissed after 2 years service
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) applies from day 1 of sickness (4th day)
- Restrictive covenants must be reasonable to be enforceable
